Christians for a United Community Helping our churches and community unite to dismantle the root causes of racism and disparity. First Presbyterian is proud to be a founding member and supporter of CUC, the 2008 recipient of our Peacemaking Offering. The Social Justice & Advocacy Committee encourages members involvement. Christians for a United Community [CUC] is an interdenominational, multi-ethnic organization of churches, lay people and clergy who share a common commitment to Jesus and his vision of justice, peace, reconciliation and non-violent social change. Seeking first to address the painful divisions, wounds, and injustices within our own faith community, our overall mission is to work for a just, sustainable and united community for everyone in greater Asheville. To that end, we are eager to work in partnerships with other organizations and individuals who share a similar vision, regardless of faith or religious convictions.
