A group of eleven senior highs and 4 adults traveled to Guatemala July 21-29. Our mission was to continue building relationships with our partner church Ebenezer in La Blanca and to celebrate the scholarship program begun in 2008 with many of the children and youth of La Blanca. We were able to visit with many of the 33 scholarship recipients and their families. Our mission team will be sharing their experiences throughout the coming months. Our partnership with our sister and brothers in La Blanca is a result of the ongoing partnership efforts of the presbytery of Western North Carolina and two presbyteries in Guatemala. Yes, we are much stronger in mission through our connectional church! The CE Committee (with lots of resources from former librarian Juanita Spanogle) has provided a list of resources (fiction and non-fiction books, adult and younger readers) about Guatemala.
