Saturday Sanctuary - Opening and Closing Ritual

The Saturday Sanctuary is meant to be a place for peace for both visitors and volunteers, and it is our hope this time will become for us all a means to experience God’s grace. To remind ourselves of this purpose, the Lead and other volunteers are asked to pause for a spoken prayer before opening the doors of the Community Room (12:30 PM) and also upon it’s closing (4:30 PM). Here are suggested prayers:

Opening Prayer:

Gracious God,

As we open the doors to this place

We pray that you will be with us and the neighbors we will meet.

May we come to know and experience the love and hospitality you intend for all.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

 

Closing Prayer

Gracious God,

As we close the doors to this place,

We pray that you will go with us and the neighbors we have met.

May we continue to strive to share the love and hospitality of Christ in all that we say and all that we do.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
