Children and families gather together at various times during the year for fellowship and mission opportunities that strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and fun community of families.
Families experience God's love in community as they grow in connection to one another and in participation in the life of the church.
Fellowship includes a variety of activities such as; fun at the lake, picnics, pot luck dinners, fall festival, bowling, downtown Night on the Town.
Through our outreach,God's call to love our neighbors is lived out as we visit and sing to homebound members, serve meals, prepare cookies or cards of welcome for our downtown neighbors. Nursery care is provided for some of the events.
Birth – Toddler
The youngest members of our ministry receive loving and attentive care by our skilled, trained nursery staff and volunteers. Infants begin experiencing God’s love in a trusted safe environment. Comfortable rocking chairs, a diaper change table and a variety of toys are available to all and nursing mothers are always welcome.
Through safe, structured play, a simple Bible story, snack, and fellowship children are introduced to God’s love and grace. They experience being a wonderful and unique part of God’s family.
Three-, Four-, and Five-Year-Olds
Children experience God’s love and grace by learning Bible stories and engaging in related activities, group games, arts and crafts, fellowship, play and enjoy gathering together around the table for snack.
GODLY PLAY for Kindergarten – 5th grade
Godly Play is a Montessori-based* Christian method that uniquely honors each child’s spiritual journey, based on the recognition that children have an innate sense of the presence of God.
Its intent is not so much to tell about God as it is to invite children to experience God’s presence as gracious and real. The Godly Play method provides an alternative sacred space through the art of religious language: parable, sacred story, liturgical action and silence for discovering the mystery of God’s presence in the lives of each child.
* The Montessori Method of education is a child-centered educational approach. This method views the child as one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It attempts to develop children physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
