Several Presbyterian Women circles meet monthly to study the Bible, pray together, and participate in mission and service. Each year a Bible study is planned and written for all Presbyterian U.S.A women to emphasize the theme for the year and to tie in with the mission of the whole church. Prayer helps to under gird our fellowship. In Circles, spiritual concern for our own comes forth. Our tradition of the Fellowship of the Least Coin, in which every Circle participates, gives us spiritual bonds with world-wide Christians. Circles take turns as hostesses for Presbyterian Women general Gatherings.
Presbyterian Women provide special support for the Presbyterian Home for
Children, the Western Carolina Rescue Mission, First Presbyterian Child Care Center, and Meals on Wheels as well as other projects. Learn more on their website.
Women’s Night Out
(Meets Monthly 6:30pm) All women are invited to gather once a month for fun, and fellowship, usually on the first Thursday Evening of the month. There is always lots of laughter, sharing, and building bonds between women of all ages. Sign Up
(Meets Monthly September-May) All women and friends are welcome to attend. Women’s Studies usually gather the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6pm to share a potluck meal and a topic, book or presentation of general interest to women. This year, there are meetings on Thursday mornings also. Check the brochure for times and dates. The diversity of women and the topics discussed make these evenings together, fun, educational and spiritually enriching. This group provides an excellent opportunity for fellowship and strengthening church ties for new and longtime participants.
Men of the church and friends are invited for a quarterly gathering of breakfast, conversation, and connection. Delicious hot breakfast is prepared by church members and participants. Various guest leaders provide insight, encourage shared discussion, and opportunities to be supportive of one another. Contact Richard Sens with questions.
Support groups meet to provide mutual support, care, and fellowship to those who are going through difficult times in life. The Memory Support Group provides care and support to those who are giving care to loved ones with memory loss. The Prayer Support Group gathers monthly to pray for the congregation and offer notes and cards of encouragement. For more information, contact Rev. Rebecca Gurney email@example.com
Throughout the year, members of FPCA gather for fellowship. Sometimes at the church for a Wednesday night dinner, occasionally an evening at a local restaurant, or an afternoon at the lake.
