The church is a community, in communion with God and one another for the sake of the world. At First Presbyterian, we seek to be:

A community of faith,
which entrusts itself to God

A community hope,
which rejoices in God’s new creation in Christ

A community of love,
where sin is forgiven and wholeness is made real

A community of witness,
that points beyond itself to the grace of Christ

  • Thanksgiving Worship

  • Moravian Lovefeast

  • Christmas Eve Worship services

Church Picnic

We have our annual church picnic on a Sunday afternoon in May following the 11am worship service. This is an opportunity to enjoy our mountains and the company of friends, old and new.

Garden for All Ages

HGG setting June, 2017 - 1.jpeg

We support the garden in the spring and summer seasons on Wednesday evenings 6:30-8:30pm.

Black Mountain Home for Children’s Home Grown Garden is now in its seventh year, thanks to the efforts of our members combined with those of Christ Community Church in Montreat. This year we have the opportunity to work alongside men from Good Works, parishioners from our neighbor Trinity Episcopal's Church of the Advocate.

Come join us. The evenings at Home Grown are especially beautiful. No experience necessary.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame Night

In July, we spend an evening at the Asheville Tourists Ballgame. We enjoy $1 hot dogs, and fireworks follow the game.
