Jeremy Roberts began his time as Director of Music and Organist at First Presbyterian Church of Asheville in August of 2016. Within his position at First Presbyterian, Mr. Roberts directs the Chancel Choir, Youth Choir, and Elementary Chorister Choir and serves as principal organist for all services.
He holds a Bachelor of Music and Religion with a concentration in organ from Grove City College and a Master of Arts in Church Music from Trinity Lutheran Seminary. His primary organ teachers have been Dr. Richard Konzen and G. Dene Barnard and he received further coaching from James Bobb. He has also studied piano with Terri Konzen, Conducting with Douglas Browne, Craig Johnson, Hilary Apfelstadt, and James Gallagher, and voice with Lynn Roseberry.
Mr. Roberts was the recipient of the 2009 Trinity Lutheran Seminary Lay Church Service Award. Previously, Jeremy served Presbyterian, Lutheran, and UCC congregations in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He has been both a guest presenter and musician for numerous events hosted by the American Guild of Organists and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians. Most
recently, Mr. Roberts served as Conference Musician and Workshop Presenter for Montreat Conference Center’s Worship and Arts Conference.
